Mount Alvernia Hospital is the first private and only not-for-profit Catholic acute tertiary care hospital in Singapore.
The hospital is located in Thomson road and was officially opened in 1961 with just 60 beds. Today, the hospital is a 319-bed general acute care tertiary medical center with two multi-disciplinary medical specialist centers. The hospital is supported by over 1,200 accredited doctors, with more than 200 specialist doctors located on the campus; the number of doctors and beds, and all the hospital facilities keep growing larger year by year: being an exempt charity, the annual surplus of the hospital is always reinvested to upgrade and the develop the hospital and its services.
Mount Alvernia Hospital is also committed to local community outreach activities to reach out to the sick, poor and marginalized through education, nursing, pastoral care, counseling, prison and parish ministry. The Community Outreach program is run by volunteers and supported by the vast majority of the hospital’s staff providing healthcare services to the elderly and marginalized communities who do not have access to regular healthcare services.
Mount Alvernia hospital offers both inpatient and outpatient services in a broad range of medical and surgical specialties.
Clinical services are available Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm. The ER is open 24/7.
